Faculty Bio: Mike Schmidt |
Video for Web Journalists Mike Schmidt is psyched about storytelling, graphic design, motion graphics, interactive design and video production. When he's not building interactive multimedia audio and video graphics packages for clients like the New York Times, the Open Society Institute, and even Lenovo or GSK, he can be found teaching the next generation of Journalists at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he lectures as an Adjunct Professor and teaches Interactive Multimedia Narratives. Schmidt worked as a videographer, video editor, production manager, television producer, motion graphic designer, web designer, flash animator and multimedia art director before going out and starting his own studio, http://www.MohawkStreet.com. He has helped judge the SND.ies: The Best of Multimedia Design Competition for the Society of News Design as well as won a handful of their Multimedia awards... (don't worry, he wasn't allowed to vote on his own projects!)
